FMF recognizes the critical importance of enhancing the livelihoods of adolescent girls and young women from underserved communities. Through our Economic Empowerment Program, we impart business acumen, focusing on financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and life skills. We aim to financially empower these young women financially, thereby improving their living standards, eradicating poverty, and increasing the number of women who are economically independent in Tanzania.

The FMF employs a participatory and practical methodology to transmit these skills to young women effectively. To achieve this, we have established partnerships with the LAVY company, various financial institutions, TVET institutions, and qualified trainers specializing in product production. The FMF has crafted a range of training guidelines tailored to our audience’s specific needs and characteristics.

Our efforts have reached 52 young women in the Dar es Salaam region, equipping them with entrepreneurship skills, product production knowledge, and financial education. These women received training from the LAVY Company in the nail care industry. As a result of this training, 12 have inaugurated their own nail salons, the LAVY brand has employed 4 as mobile service clinic technicians, and 13 have secured employment in other beauty salons. This initiative is a testament to the FMF’s commitment to fostering economic self-sufficiency among young Tanzanian women
