Our Story
Flaviana Matata Foundation – Tanzania (FMF) is a not-for-profit organisation founded by Flaviana Matata, a renowned model and entrepreneur. We are registered in Tanzania and the United States as a 501(c)3. We strive to advocate for girls’ education by creating a safe and friendly environment for them to acquire knowledge.
A world where girls are more confident, economically independent and supportive of their communities.
To ensure that Tanzanian adolescent girls and young women have access to quality education, resources and opportunities they need to improve their livelihood.
Providing scholarships to over 500 girls from primary to university level, and supporting them with mentoring, career guidance, and life skills.
Distributing over 100,000 sanitary pads to girls in schools, and educating them on menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health.
Empowering over 200,000 adolescent girls and young women with livelihood skills, such as entrepreneurship, vocational training, and financial literacy.
Advocating for policy change and creating accountability to the existing structure, by engaging with stakeholders, media, and the public.
